This testimony is a little tardy, but better late than never. I’ve had at least a couple of opportunities to participate in Papillon MDC’s workshops led by Stefano Di Lollo. His energy, enthusiasm, thought-provoking content, and creativity, make any corporate event or ‘leadership summit’ a valuable learning experience.
My team engaged Mirella through Zoom Webinar during lockdown. Mirella’s engagement with the team was critical to the success of our overall event and in this challenging context. She engaged us with insights, spurring both introspection and conversation amongst my leaders. In our case the theme which ran across was an installing growth mindset within ourselves, our peers, and teams. It was exactly the time of “nutrients” we needed in the moment and driving our path forward. Top scores from my team and lives on!
We have had the absolute pleasure of having Mirella De Civita as a Keynote Speaker at our Leadership Forum in December 2020. Mirella is very engaging in her approach and truly inspiring with her words. Her passion for her work and her compassion for people is evidenced in all that she does. I was overwhelmed, year-end rush, yes 2020 THE year, and then was asked to add another item to the list… to lead a discussion panel on Leadership during the pandemic with the executive team… I said yes. I said yes because I was doing this with someone who knew what she was talking about, someone who had wisdom, profound knowledge and broad data to talk about this intelligently in an inspiring way. I knew that with her we would deliver something that could make a difference to someone. Through her feedback, supportive effort and effective brainstorming we had a game plan and we delivered! Honored to have been part of this program. Really rich learning, sharing, & coaching experiences. At times, it was difficult to prioritize the course over the work, but in the end, every minute was well worth it. For me, what changed within me as a result of this Papillon program involved both, my professional work and and personal life; empathy and active listening resonated for me. This changes the whole approach of how we interact with people. And then, confirmation bias and the brain’s threat detection system; this helps gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and those around us. When you are mentally ready to apply everything learned, you feel much more powerful! The final 2-day event with the in-person sessions were really interesting experiences (we’d forgotten how valuable seeing each other really is). My experience in the program was truly transformative. It provided me with clarity about the kind of leader I aspire to be—more empathic, more attuned to my team’s needs, and committed to fostering both my own development as a manager and the professional growth of my team members.
Throughout the program, we explored several impactful strategies that I’ve already begun applying in my daily work, receiving positive feedback as a result. These strategies have proven effective, and I’m committed to integrating them into my leadership approach moving forward.
Our facilitators (Stefano & Kim), demonstrated exceptional skill in guiding us—not just as a group, but also at an individual level, ensuring personalized support and insights. The in-person, two-day event for the program’s conclusion, at our headquarters in St Bruno/ Montreal, was a standout experience. Working with Stefano as my coach was a truly refreshing experience. His questions consistently guided me back to self-reflection, helping me realize that the locus of control is often within me. The “status quo” is not set in stone. He also helped me break down challenges in a way that made them more manageable and actionable. Stefano was my coach during an exhilarating yet challenging period in my career. While I was experiencing rapid professional growth, I was eager to sustain the momentum but hadn’t fully recognized how aspects of my leadership style—distinct from my expertise—were limiting my potential. This AIR program was truly amazing. It was so invaluable and I’m so pleased that I was nominated by Alstom to be a part of it. ☆☆☆☆☆ Stefano was excellent – I highly recommend! I enjoyed his openness and he knew how to make people feel comfortable in providing their opinions. This [Purposeful Coaching] program opened my eyes on how to extract the root cause of an issue experienced by an employee by thinking differently.
Let’s face it: Stefano Di Lollo is an absolute pro, a master with his words, and an entertaining and CREATIVE facilitator. For me, the workplace stories and examples he used resonated with me because I could relate on many levels. Though it’s clear that Stefano has a considerable amount of experience, I respect that he also shared his own struggles in applying the techniques in order to help us get past our own resistance. Last but not least, his demonstration of how to use the Purposeful Coaching model was impressive. No one in the room even realized he was using the very method he was teaching at first! The Purposeful Coaching workshops truly changed my mind and the assumptions that I had about coaching; I believe in the past I’ve associated the word “coaching” with something negative versus how I see it now, which is something positive for conversations. What I really liked about this program was Stefano as the experienced coach and his great way of providing knowledge that often didn’t even feel like we were being taught but the learning was happening right there in the room.
Stefano is a great facilitator, his positive energy and the real-world examples he provides make the training so interesting. I really believe in coaching and I love how this [Purposeful Coaching] program allows for practicing a new model which will help me grow as a leader. I truly appreciated the opportunity to combine theory and practice, I found the handouts helpful, and I like that we have the opportunity to discuss our challenges with others.
This in-person [Purposeful Coaching] workshop helps reinforce tactics taken to make conversations “purposeful” through a coaching approach and explores why they are effective. The workshop was excellent, the instructor, Stefano, was excellent and engaging!
Stefano Di Lollo brings a wealth of passion and experience. The [Purposeful Coaching] program provided a structured approach to my conversations, and I particularly liked the 3Rs model and the powerful questioning guide. These tools have given me a way to tackle challenges from a fresh perspective. Overall, I found the Papillon [MDC] program very good.
Kim and Stefano, I just have to say, I’ve participated in numerous trainings at Alstom, but this one has truly been unlike any other.
